Awards & Achievements
Pidherney’s is “Driven To Excel From Start To Finish”; community involvement, a strong team, diversity, and successful execution of key projects do indeed put them in a category of excellence.
In 2012 Pidherney’s was a finalist for Heavy Civil Contractor of the year for their achievements in the area of civil construction. They are also a past winner of the Rocky Mountain House Corporate Service award for their involvement in the community.
In 2013, Merv Pidherney won the Ernst & Young Prairies Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Energy Services. He was recognized for building a one-person trucking operation into an enterprise with hundreds of employees and multiple divisions. Pidherney has built his business on word of mouth and customer referrals. He’s translated his natural leadership abilities and a keen eye for opportunity into a thriving business that serves major oil/energy companies and numerous municipalities. “I have been fortunate to work with some great people for some great clients,” he says, “Entrepreneurship has been a very rewarding experience.” But Merv Pidherney would be the first to say that the ongoing success of M. Pidherney’s Trucking Ltd. has been due to the quality of its employees. “I’ve got some very, very good people.”
Pidherney’s also won the 2014 Contractor of the Year award in the Heavy Civil Contractor category. Alberta Venture, Merit Contractors Association and the Alberta Roadbuilders & Heavy Construction Association organize the Contractor of the Year awards.
